Soft matter interfaces:

from biology to engineering applications

Congressi Stefano Franscini

Monte Verità

5-10 NOVEMBER 2017

Goal of the conference

Soft matter interfaces occur when surface-active species, such as surfactants, proteins, polymers or particles populate an interface and change its dynamics. Such complex interfaces occur in cells in biology, droplets in emulsions or bubbles in foams. The conference will try to identify the common issues in such high interface materials trying to embrace a range of applications from biology, over material sciences to novel engineering processes.

Keynote Speakers

Damian Baigl, Ecole Normale Superieure
Paul Clegg, University of Edinburgh
Valeria Garbin, Imperial College London
Michael Mackay, University of Delaware
Stephen Mann, University of Bristol
Patrick Spicer, University of New South Wales
